Hari Ram College, Mairwa is a proud constituent unit of Jai Prakash University, Chhapra (Bihar). Located near the sacred Hari Ram Brahm Temple in Mairwa Dham and close to Jiradei—the birthplace of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, India’s first President—the college benefits from a rich cultural and historical backdrop.

Established in 1965, the college owes its foundation to the collective efforts of the people of the Mairwa Block. It was named in honor of the revered local saint Baba Hariram, whose legacy continues to inspire the institution’s values and mission. The founding committee included notable figures such as Lt. Gopal Ji Shahi, Lt. Raj Banshi Singh (Chairperson), (Secretary – name not listed), and Lt. Radhakrishna Singh (Joint Secretary). The construction of the college building was made possible through generous contributions from the farmers of the Sugarcane Purchase and Sale Union of Mairwa.

Initially affiliated with Bihar University, Muzaffarpur in July 1966, the college attained the status of a constituent unit on January 1, 1980, following recognition the Government of Bihar.
